About the position

As a Scrum Master, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective project delivery and team collaboration. This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, and operates in a hybrid work environment. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the Scrum process, ensuring that the team adheres to Scrum methodologies and principles. You will lead daily stand-up meetings, guiding the team in their daily activities and helping them stay focused on their goals. Your role will also involve traditional project management tasks, where you will define project scope, manage staffing requirements, and communicate project status to clients and partners. You will be responsible for identifying and managing risks and issues that may arise during the project lifecycle. In addition to facilitating Scrum processes, you will conduct requirements assessments by consulting with users, management, vendors, and technicians to understand their computing needs and system requirements. You will be tasked with creating user stories and acceptance criteria, as well as executing testing activities on projects to ensure that the final product meets quality standards. Collaboration with the team and product owner will be essential as you work to translate requirements into working software, ensuring that product quality expectations are well-defined and understood by the team. You will also collaborate on work scheduling, including defect remediation and refactoring to prevent technical debt accumulation. Furthermore, you will evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility, ensuring that the projects undertaken are viable and align with the organization's goals. Your technical skills and experience will be critical in guiding the team and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Daily Stand-ups: Lead daily stand-up meetings, ensuring adherence to Scrum processes.
  • Support the team in following the Scrum framework.
  • Define project scope and manage staffing requirements.
  • Communicate project status to clients and partners.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum methodologies and principles.
  • Proficiency in using Confluence and JIRA for project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and lead teams effectively.
  • Experience in traditional project management tasks.
