About the position

The Scrum Master will drive GenAI initiatives at AIG, focusing on the intersection of technology, people, and performance. This role is pivotal in coaching teams on Agile methodologies, facilitating communication, and ensuring the successful execution of Agile practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Scrum Master for two scrum teams, coaching the teams to achieve higher levels of agile maturity at a sustainable pace.
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums and facilitate Program Increment (PI) execution.
  • Guide teams to be self-organized and motivate teams to focus on team goals/objectives.
  • Remove impediments and act as a change agent to implement Agile principles and best practices across the team and the organization.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospective, daily stand-up, and sprint review/demo.
  • Facilitate getting the work done effectively and consensus-based methods in a matrixed environment.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Foster internal team communication by building a trusting and safe environment.
  • Assist with communication with the broader IT teams and business stakeholders to improve transparency and visibility into the team's progress and impediments.
  • Assist with documenting and tracking dependencies on other teams and with following up on the status of open items regularly.
  • Support and educate the product owners in their role of creating, grooming, and maintaining the backlog.
  • Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience implementing Agile and DevSecOps.
  • Scrum master certification required.
  • SAFe certification preferred.
  • Program management certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a dedicated scrum master role for a software development team applying Scrum / SAFe principles, practices, and theory.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent coaching skills.

  • Insurance experience and/or technical skills are strongly preferred.
