About the position

The Scrum Master will lead the Tier 0 security team in Houston, ensuring adherence to agile principles and facilitating team ceremonies. This role requires a strong understanding of agile methodologies, particularly the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and the ability to manage both planned and unplanned work effectively. The Scrum Master will play a crucial role in maintaining team dynamics and supporting the flow of work through Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile Ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and Program Increment (PI) planning sessions every 12 weeks.
• Assist the Product Owner in prioritizing and managing the backlog, ensuring that work is appropriately filtered and routed.
• Oversee the flow of work through Azure DevOps (ADO) boards, ensuring tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently.
• Coordinate with global teams, including those in Kuala Lumpur and India, and manage virtual meetings as needed.
• Report metrics such as velocity and story points to the Release Train Engineer, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Help the team balance planned and unplanned work, providing guidance on agile practices and principles.
• Provide technical understanding to aid in the comprehension of the team's technical environment.

Requirements

• Intermediate-level experience as a Scrum Master with a strong grasp of agile methodologies and practices.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools for managing work items and tracking progress.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with team members, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of agile principles, particularly the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Nice-to-haves

• SAFe certification or similar agile certifications.
• Experience in Windows engineering or infrastructure.
• Familiarity with oil and gas industry practices.
