About the position

As a Scrum Master at CL Hebron Enterprises Inc (HEI), you will play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring multiple teams and the organization in Agile/Scrum best practices, methodologies, and values. Your primary responsibility will be to assess the Scrum maturity of the teams and coach them to achieve higher levels of maturity at a sustainable and comfortable pace. You will be instrumental in removing impediments that hinder the team's progress and facilitating the completion of work assignments by assigning or dictating tasks as necessary. Your role will also involve facilitating discussions, decision-making processes, team building, and conflict resolution to foster a collaborative environment. In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency and radiate information. Supporting product owners and project leadership will be crucial to maximizing return on investment (ROI) and meeting the organization's objectives. You will also be responsible for educating the Product Owner and teams, which includes grooming and maintaining the product backlog. Engaging in agile delivery utilizing the best agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, will be a key aspect of your role. You will provide support to teams using a servant leadership style and lead by example, facilitating all necessary team meetings in accordance with Scrum ceremonies and participating in design sessions as required. This position is based at the on-site facility located at the State Building, 602 N. 5th Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is expected to start on September 30, 2024, with an engagement term ending on June 30, 2027. The role is full-time and contract-based, offering a competitive salary range of $66K to $103K per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor multiple teams and organization using Agile/Scrum best practices, methodologies, and values.
  • Assess the Scrum maturity of the teams and organization and coach the teams to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable and comfortable pace.
  • Remove impediments or guide a team to remove impediments.
  • Facilitate completion of work assignments, assigning, or dictating work assignments.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision-making, team building, and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with internal and external communication improving transparency, and radiating information; supporting product owners and project leadership to maximize return on investment (ROI) and meet the organization's objectives.
  • Support and educate the Product Owner and teams, including grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Engage in agile delivery utilizing the best agile methodology (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, etc).
  • Provide support to teams using a servant leadership style whenever possible and lead by example.
  • Facilitate all necessary team meetings in accordance with Scrum ceremonies.
  • Participate in all design sessions.
  • Perform or direct the performance of special tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in the Scrum Master role.
  • Scrum Master certification (include copy of certificate with resume).

Nice-to-haves

  • Identifying and building Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure program performance.
  • Experience with JIRA and/or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Creating and maintaining product timelines, status reports, communication plans, and other product management related documentation.
