About the position

Modis is seeking a highly adaptable Scrum Master to join our Enterprise Delivery Practice team in Hartford, CT. This role is crucial for scaling agility across the enterprise and ensuring quick delivery of better solutions. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for facilitating key Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint demos. You will assist the product owner in maintaining a well-groomed backlog and ensure effective cross-team coordination. Your role will also involve reaching out to the larger company network to remove impediments that may hinder progress. In addition to these responsibilities, you will maintain relevant metrics that help the team assess their performance and progress. A significant part of your role will be to coach and mentor other Scrum Masters within our product team, ensuring consistency in our ways of working across various teams. You will act as a liaison between the Scrum team and the Product Owner/User Experience team, fostering better communication and collaboration between these disciplines. As a servant leader, you must earn the respect of your team, empower them towards self-organization, and be willing to engage directly in tasks to ensure successful outcomes. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to effectively convey ideas and facilitate discussions. Assertiveness is also key, as you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to Agile/Scrum principles and making tough decisions when necessary. Conflict resolution skills are vital, as you will facilitate discussions to explore alternatives and elevate issues to management when needed. You should have a strong desire for transparency, bringing disclosure to the business about development processes and fostering trust within the organization. Experience with Rally is strongly desired, along with a Scrum Master industry certification and familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). A solid understanding of various processes and methodologies will enable you to provide valuable insights and leverage techniques that enhance team performance. Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices is also important. Participation in industry Agile communities and experience in the healthcare sector will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective, and sprint demos.
  • Assist the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed.
  • Ensure cross-team coordination.
  • Reach out to the larger company network for impediment removal.
  • Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing.
  • Coach and mentor other scrum masters in our product team to ensure consistent ways of working across teams.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment.
  • Scrum Master industry certification.
  • Experience with Rally is strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Understanding of various Agile processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and facilitating discussions.
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices and service-oriented environments.

  • Healthcare experience is preferred.
