About the position

As a Scrum Master at Steampunk, you will serve as both the Scrum Master and Business Analyst for an Agile software development team. Your role will involve managing Agile projects, overseeing the scrum team for high-priority client projects, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. You will be responsible for defining project scope, managing risks, and facilitating team development while promoting an agile mindset and client values.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Scrum Master and Business Analyst on an Agile software development team.
  • Oversee scrum team for key high-priority projects.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects.
  • Support planning and delivery of technical IT development Agile projects.
  • Define project scope and schedule, focusing on timely delivery of value.
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports and manage risks and issues.
  • Correct deviations from plans and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
  • Assist in team development and hold teams accountable for their commitments.
  • Remove roadblocks to team work and leverage organizational resources to improve project capacity.
  • Mentor and develop team members, managing customer expectations for project deliverables.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to create shared understanding with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to decompose large epics into features and user stories.
  • Document Acceptance Criteria in a clear manner for both development team and business stakeholders.
  • Function as direct manager for team members, setting goals and overseeing day-to-day work.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
  • 4+ years of experience serving as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, or Business Analyst.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent.
  • Ability to establish credibility with clients and build consensus.
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics and identify dependencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a studio or human-centered design approach.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP, CSM, and/or SAFe certification.
  • Preferred experience in serving as a Scrum Master.
