About the position

The Scrum Master at BCforward is responsible for leading one or more Scrum teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, managing team dependencies, and ensuring continuous improvement. This role involves delivery management for key projects within the GFIIT portfolio and requires collaboration with business partners to understand needs and drive technology projects in the Capital Markets space.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a servant leader to Scrum teams and help resolve impediments.
  • Coach the team to achieve sprint goals and timelines, ensuring adherence to the 'Definition of Ready' and 'Definition of Done'.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and coach agile routines and ceremonies including Sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint retrospectives, and PI planning.
  • Facilitate scaled planning for the team in a Scaled Agile model, including pre-planning preparation and representing the team in Scrum of Scrums.
  • Enable the team to become high performing through collaboration and a focus on continuous improvement, working with other Scrum teams to define best practices.
  • Drive agile team maturity based on the Bank's guidelines.
  • Manage delivery for key GFIIT deliverables.
  • Utilize business analyst experience to understand business needs and analyze solutions by building relationships with business partners.
  • Understand the Treasury space and the applications supported.
  • Leverage prior Capital Markets experience to drive technology projects.
  • Possess knowledge of Capital Markets products in Fixed Income or Derivatives.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Scrum Master with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to coach teams and facilitate Scrum ceremonies effectively.
  • Experience in delivery management for technology projects.
  • Business analyst experience in understanding and analyzing business needs.
  • Prior experience in Capital Markets, particularly in Fixed Income or Derivatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Scrum Master or PMP certification.
  • Experience with Quartz or Trading applications.
  • Proficiency in Python or SQL scripting.
