About the position

Magna is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our team in Bangalore. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to develop scalable smart solutions while driving and implementing agile methodologies. As a Scrum Master, you will facilitate and coach the team in adopting the Scrum framework, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality software on time and within budget. You will be responsible for guiding the Scrum team through all ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. Your role will also involve maintaining the Scrum Team Backlog, managing internal stakeholder and customer communications, and coaching the development team on Agile principles and practices. In addition to facilitating Scrum ceremonies, you will be tasked with removing impediments that hinder the team's progress, fostering collaboration and communication within the team and across departments, and managing the Scrum backlog to ensure it is well-refined and prioritized. You will track team progress and metrics, report on project health and velocity, and champion the adoption of Agile practices within the organization. Continuous improvement opportunities for the Scrum process will also be a key focus, as well as planning and coordinating software development activities with other global sites. Staying up to date on the latest trends and best practices in Agile project management is essential, as is acting with honesty and integrity in accordance with Magna's Compliance Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and guide the Scrum team through all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Own and maintain the Scrum Team Backlog (planning & prioritizing).
  • Responsible for the internal stakeholder & customer communication for the assigned scrum team/product.
  • Coach and mentor the development team on Agile principles and practices.
  • Remove impediments that hinder the team's progress and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Foster collaboration and communication within the team and across departments (Product, Development, Operations).
  • Manage the Scrum backlog and ensure it is well-refined and prioritized.
  • Track team progress and metrics, and report on project health and velocity.
  • Champion the adoption of Agile practices within the organization.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for the Scrum process.
  • Plan and coordinate software development activities with other global sites and communicate vision, progress, product roadmap and release plan.
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices in Agile project management.
  • Act with honesty and integrity and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna's Compliance Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, computer science, software, or related field of study).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an Agile environment for a product successfully industrialized.
  • Strong understanding of the Scrum framework and its principles.
  • Minimum of a PSM-1 Certification is required (PSM-2 is a bonus).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience in resolving team conflicts and fostering a collaborative environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile project management tools like Jira is preferred.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
  • Problem solver that is action-oriented with the ability to look at problems in new ways.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to design an effective solution.
  • Ability to support multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicational skills, organizational skills, negotiation skills, and flexibility to address competing demands.
  • Ability to explain Production / technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses.
