About the position

The Senior Scrum Master and Program Manager at Liberty Mutual will lead critical technology programs aimed at driving profitable growth across distribution channels. This role involves guiding a team of teams to deliver value, advising leadership on program management practices, and ensuring effective delivery of technology solutions. The position is pivotal in managing a significant technology investment and enhancing organizational agility.

Responsibilities

  • Define domain level program management governance and practices to ensure consistent and effective delivery of technology solutions.
  • Lead major programs within the Distribution domain and with partner domains to deliver solutions that drive profitable growth for US retail markets.
  • Partner with domain leadership team to identify risks, issues, and dependencies and work to identify mitigation strategies that mitigate impact to delivery.
  • Aggregate domain team objectives and key results to ensure visibility and transparency for the entire team.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among teams and stakeholders at domain level events to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Use assessment models and indicators to gauge the health and effectiveness of the team of teams.
  • Drive the usage of data and metrics to measure and optimize the effectiveness of both program delivery and engineering excellence.
  • Guide continuous improvement efforts to enhance delivery and effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching and consulting to portfolio team leaders on good practices to accelerate maturity and remove organizational barriers to agility.

Requirements

  • Experience with large scale technology program management and proven track record of delivery excellence.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.
  • Advanced presentation skills and ability to influence through effective communications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline and at least eight, typically ten or more years related experience as a project team member, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of business functions and extensive understanding of business operations, strategies and objectives.
  • Understanding of agile methodology concepts and how to apply program management disciplines to an agile delivery model.
