At Regions, the Scrum Master serves as a facilitator and Agile coach for up to two development teams. This position provides leadership helping the Agile teams adhere to the rules of Scrum, applies the practices and principles of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise), and works within and outside the team to remove impediments. This position creates and fosters an environment of transparency and continuous improvement by proactively communicating with the team, management, and outside stakeholders. The Scrum Master focuses the Agile team on delivering planned value and ensures the team(s) achieve their stated objectives by reinforcing the SAFe framework and Scrum principles. They keep the team focused on their goals and facilitate all standard ceremonies. The Scrum Master guides the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values, helping them to self-organize and fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks. Additionally, the Scrum Master assesses the Scrum maturity of the team and organization, coaching the team to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace. They facilitate getting the work done by addressing and eliminating impediments beyond the team's authority and finding the right personnel to assist in removing these impediments. The Scrum Master builds an environment of continuous improvement, encouraging a healthy intra-team dynamic by facilitating team retrospectives, coaching the team on problem-solving and conflict resolution, and escalating issues when necessary. This position also involves coordinating with other teams, assisting with internal and external communication, and supporting the Product Owner, especially regarding the maintenance and work on the product backlog. The Scrum Master guides the team through estimating and forecasting, ensuring that the Agile principles are upheld throughout the development process.
