About the position

Nightwing is seeking a Scrum Master who is self-motivated and passionate about leading software development teams. This position is contingent upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and successful TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance crossover. As a Scrum Master, you will serve as a servant leader for the scrum team, ensuring that the team meets their goals and objectives each increment. You will facilitate the team's progress toward their goals, continuously challenging the old norms of development to improve performance in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity. You will help the team focus on iteration goals in the context of current Program Increment (PI) Objectives and actively address blocking issues to maintain flow. In this role, you will be responsible for making and influencing decisions that impact cost, schedule, and technical performance at a team level. You will decompose features into well-defined user stories and perform software development tasks such as analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing. Additionally, you will coordinate agile team meetings and support the product owner, participating in peer reviews, removing blockers, assisting in design decisions, and clarifying story acceptance criteria. This position is a mixture of agile team leader and individual contributor, and at times, you should expect to take and work on your own user stories. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with 3 years of prior relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is essential, with TS/SCI and polygraph clearance required. You should have experience in software technical lead roles, agile software development experience, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Familiarity with Linux development environments and usage of ALM tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Crucible, and Bamboo is also necessary.
