About the position

The Scrum Master at DMI will play a crucial role in leading Agile development teams focused on Python-based front-end and back-end services, as well as data parsing. This position is responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure the teams deliver high-quality software efficiently. The Scrum Master will work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to align project goals with Agile best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Guide the Python Front-End, Back-End, and Data Parsing teams through the Scrum framework, ensuring best practices are followed.
• Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that teams stay focused on goals and timelines.
• Identify and help remove any obstacles or roadblocks that hinder team progress, ensuring smooth collaboration between developers and stakeholders.
• Foster effective communication between product owners, developers, and external stakeholders to ensure clarity around goals, scope, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with product owners to keep the backlog well-defined, groomed, and prioritized based on team capacity and project deadlines.
• Track the progress of the team against sprint commitments using Agile tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. Identify any risks or deviations and work with the team to address them.
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives, gathering team feedback, and implementing improvements to processes and workflows.
• Ensure the Python front-end, back-end, and data parsing projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on team progress, impediments, and key metrics related to velocity, burndown charts, and overall team health.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach supporting cross-functional development teams, including front-end, back-end, and data-focused roles.
• Some technical understanding or experience with Python development, data engineering, or SaaS platforms is preferred.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or other Agile certifications are highly desirable.
• Prior experience working in Agile teams developing SaaS applications, particularly in domains such as Telecom Expense Management, ITSM, or Data Engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• A strong understanding of software development processes, with a particular focus on SaaS development and teams working on Python-based projects.
• Proficiency in Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Trello to track sprint progress and team performance.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills to lead Agile ceremonies and ensure productive team collaboration.
• Ability to quickly identify issues, remove roadblocks, and work collaboratively to resolve problems and improve team productivity.
• Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring development teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
