The Scrum Master will work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate the scrum process, ensuring that Agile and Scrum practices are followed effectively. The Scrum Master will be responsible for guiding scrum teams through the Agile process, promoting prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint. They will also be tasked with optimizing the scrum team's velocity and identifying improvement opportunities to enhance overall team performance. The role involves facilitating Scrum Agile ceremonies, collaborating with product owners and project managers, and communicating the delivery of work products from the team. The Scrum Master will need to escalate any key risks and issues that may impede the effectiveness of the scrum team and work closely with internal customers to ensure alignment with business goals. In this position, the Scrum Master will receive direction from leaders while exercising independent judgment to develop a comprehensive understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements necessary for success in the role. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the scrum process with cross-functional impact involving moderately complex projects, non-projects, or maintenance work.
  • Guide scrum teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices, promoting prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint.
  • Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities for higher levels of team performance.
  • Deliver capabilities using agile practices while following the Software Development Lifecycle and business process mapping.
  • Partner with discipline managers regarding governance policies and adherence to corporate standards.
  • Facilitate Scrum Agile ceremonies for the teams.
  • Collaborate with product owners, program, or project managers to communicate delivery of work products and escalate key risks and issues.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Interact with internal customers and receive direction from leaders.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of practicing Agile Scrum Master experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Hands-on experience with Kanban and Jira.
