About the position

CACI is currently looking for Agile Scrum Masters with agile methodology experience to join our Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This role is crucial in supporting the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation's safety, security, and prosperity. As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will be part of a passionate group of industry-leading individuals dedicated to implementing best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for activities associated with the delivery of customer-defined systems and software projects. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the team in achieving daily, iteration, and release goals, implementing and improving Agile/Scrum principles and practices, and providing mentoring and training on Agile processes. You will also serve as the leadership proxy, gather and monitor team metrics, facilitate root cause analysis for defects, and identify and remove impediments that may interfere with the team's ability to deliver. Your role will be pivotal in fostering positive team dynamics and maximizing team performance while managing a team of experienced technical professionals on an Agile Scrum Team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Scrum Master responsible for delivery of customer-defined systems and software projects.
  • Support the team in achieving daily, iteration, and release goals and delivery objectives.
  • Implement, enforce, and continually improve Agile/Scrum principles and practices.
  • Provide mentoring and training for the team on Agile processes, methods, and practices.
  • Serve as the leadership proxy.
  • Gather and monitor team metrics and ensure team adherence to the definition of ready and done.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis for defects that occur after 'Done'.
  • Identify and remove impediments to help protect the team from outside influences.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to use process improvement and re-engineering methodologies to facilitate improvements to team processes.
  • Facilitate positive team dynamics to help maximize team performance.
  • Manage a team of experienced technical professionals on an Agile Scrum Team.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation.
  • At least five (5) years of related experience, particularly working on government contracts.
  • College degree (B.S. or greater) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline; experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience participating in a high performing, highly engaged, and motivated CM team.
  • Solid experience in incremental software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach.
  • Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle.
  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter.

Nice-to-haves
