About the position

Odyssey Systems is seeking a highly skilled SDA BCC Software Acquisition Program Manager to support the US Space Force's mission in protecting national security interests in space. This full-time role involves providing advisory and assistance services to transition science and technology efforts into operational systems, focusing on program management, budget execution, and stakeholder engagement. The position allows for remote work two days a week and requires a strong background in program management within the Department of Defense (DoD).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Government Program Manager in all aspects of Program Management including developing requirements and releasing solicitations.
  • Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Monitor and track expenditures throughout the acquisitions lifecycle.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for stakeholders and management.
  • Evaluate cost-effectiveness of proposed acquisitions and ongoing projects and make recommendations.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of procurement documentation and financial justifications.
  • Develop and execute integrated risk reduction strategies and recommendations to mitigate identified program risk conditions.
  • Maintain strong relationships across a wide spectrum of stakeholders including USSF, USAF, USN, and international partners.
  • Assist with translating user requirements into statement of work documentation.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, agreeable to polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • 12 years of directly relevant experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD, OR a Master's degree and 8 years of directly relevant experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and build effective relationships and teams with government customers and contractors.
  • Knowledge of government financial management processes and systems.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with internal and external clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Top Secret/SCI, Current polygraph.
  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • PMP Certification; DAU DAWIA, or equivalent Acquisition Program Management Level II or III training.
  • Familiarity with DoD Acquisition Program Management, including DoD Adaptive Acquisition Framework processes.
  • Experience developing solicitation documents and evaluating proposals.
