About the position

The Sr Advanced I&T Engineer at General Dynamics Mission Systems is responsible for developing and deploying advanced ground operational systems as part of a cross-functional team. This role requires a strong background in systems engineering and software development, with a focus on satellite communications and ground operations. The engineer will lead the software development life cycle and apply technical standards to solve complex challenges while ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy state-of-the-art ground operational systems.
• Lead the software development life cycle for the SDA O&I/GMI program.
• Apply technical standards and methodologies to solve engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure buy-in on concepts and ideas.
• Provide technical leadership and support the professional development of team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
• 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of satellite communications and ground to satellite communication systems.
• Experience in ground operations.
• Familiarity with AWS, GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Experience in missile warning/missile tracking system integration and operations.
