About the position

The SDET Automation Tester role at SmarTek21 is focused on ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through automated testing. The position requires a deep understanding of software testing concepts, the ability to analyze requirements, and the execution of test cases to identify bugs and usability issues. The role also involves collaboration with development teams and stakeholders to enhance testing processes and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and prepare a query list to clarify incomplete requirements.
• Write and execute test cases to identify system bugs, including UI and usability issues.
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover potential issues.
• Check consistency across devices and browsers to ensure a uniform user experience.
• Provide inputs on high-level test scenarios, challenges, risks, resources, and test estimates during test planning meetings.
• Cover test automation tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of software testing concepts and processes, including the bug life cycle.
• Experience with different testing levels, methods, and types.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment.
• Extensive experience with automation tools such as Selenium.
• Critical thinking and analytical skills to prioritize tests and manage bug reports.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project team members and stakeholders.
• Programming skills, including coding and basic SQL knowledge for data extraction.
• Familiarity with XML and general SDET skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with quality management tools like TFS, TestDirector, or TestRail.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools and project management software.
• Experience with SQL clients and source control management tools like Git.
