About the position
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Rekor Systems, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the test automation framework, developing tools for testing processes, and creating automated tests to streamline development efforts. This position is pivotal in ensuring that Rekor can deliver solutions to customers with confidence and speed, contributing to the overall success of the company in the intelligent infrastructure industry.
Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into test cases.
- Design and implement test plans.
- Document defects promptly and thoroughly.
- Help debug and diagnose code issues.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites to improve coverage.
- Configure CI/CD systems.
- Architect and integrate new solutions into in-house automation SDK.
- Teach peers automation best practices.
- Document new features, functionality, and procedures in an internal wiki to help others.
- Run manual test cases for products that do not yet have automated coverage.
- Identify areas that need additional test coverage.
- Lead, develop, inspire, and motivate a diverse, inclusive, multidisciplinary, and high performing collaborative team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of test automation experience
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies
- Ability to write code (Java, Python, bash scripts)
- Experience with tools & frameworks: Spring, Lombok, Selenium, Appium, Gradle, JUnit
- Strong understanding of source control workflows
- Experience writing tests for parallel execution
- Knowledge of design patterns: Page Object Model, Factory Pattern, etc.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and CRUD functionality
- Experience with Postman, collection runners, and scripting
- Strong test case management and documentation skills
- Strong analytic capabilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to find productive work without direction
- Strong desire to learn and improve processes
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure
- Familiarity with Linux (preferably Ubuntu) and basic commands
- Experience with Docker containers
- Basic understanding of computer hardware
- Basic networking knowledge
