About the position

Kforce has a client seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) specializing in Java, Cucumber, SQL, and BPM Testing, located in Westlake, TX. This role is integral to our Agile team, where the SDET will contribute to delivering solutions that meet business requirements through the development of automated test scenarios. The position involves collaborating closely with team members to ensure high-quality software delivery and effective testing processes. The SDET will engage in the understanding and grooming of user stories, which includes building QA tasks, creating test cases, and implementing functional automation. Participation in product demonstrations during iteration reviews is also a key responsibility, allowing the SDET to showcase testing outcomes and gather feedback. Additionally, the SDET will be responsible for logging defects and issues, working collaboratively with team members to ensure timely resolution and maintain the integrity of the software product. This position requires a strong foundation in various technologies and methodologies, including relational databases, test automation frameworks, and Agile practices. The SDET will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in coding and a passion for quality assurance, contributing to the overall success of the development team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in understanding and grooming of user stories.
  • Build QA tasks, test cases, and functional automation.
  • Participate in product demos at iteration reviews.
  • Log defects/issues and work with team members to ensure resolution.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Relational Databases like Oracle or Postgres.
  • Experience with PL/SQL and sophisticated queries, views, packages, etc.
  • Expertise in Java, Python, Karate, and/or Cucumber.
  • Expert knowledge in test automation frameworks (Selenium & Rest assured) and demonstrate proficiency, quality, and passion in your coding ability.
  • Experience with UI and Microservices Architecture, Restful API's, Enterprise messaging like ActiveMQ, Kafka.
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery tools like Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, Stash.
  • Knowledge and experience testing Camunda BPM (Business Process Management) and Kafka.
  • Experience or understanding of Agile software development methodology using Scrum.
  • Hands-on software QA testing experience.
  • Strong understanding of QA engineering, analysis, and testing concepts.
  • Strong problem identification and solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must.
  • Strong understanding of JIRA and Xray tools and processes.
