About the position

The SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) role focuses on delivering test and automation solutions within a collaborative team environment. The position involves participating in sprint activities, aligning with automation standards, and promoting quality engineering throughout the project lifecycle. The SDET will work closely with developers and business analysts to address testing issues and support the overall quality objectives of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in squad level sprint activities and support delivery of test and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with developers and business analysts to resolve issues or questions pertaining to test creation or execution.
  • Facilitate alignment to automation standards and support overall DevOps Integration.
  • Identify, communicate, and proactively lead project risks as well as those of supporting teams.
  • Partner with development teams to promote understanding of quality engineering and its role in the project lifecycle.
  • Support the overall team's quality objectives and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of software testing, development and automation experience.
  • Experienced with programming languages such as Java and scripting language like SQL.
  • Proficient in Agile software development.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities in response to changing business needs.
  • Test and Automation Tools: Jira, X-ray, Cucumber, Selenium.
  • Programming Languages: Java, Python.
  • API Tools: Rest Assured, Postman, and SOAPUI.
  • DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Git repositories, Source-Tree, and Docker.
  • Databases: Oracle, Snowflake, Postgres, and SQL-Server.
  • Monitoring Tools: Splunk logs, Datadog logs.
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies AWS or Azure is preferred.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and strategies as well as how to apply them to multiple SDLC models is preferred.
  • Experience with trading or financial applications is preferred.
