About the position

Insight Global is seeking several Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET) to support a federal client remotely on a newly awarded program. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing. The SDET will collaborate with product owners and development teams to create comprehensive test plans and cases, conduct code reviews, implement performance testing, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Participation in Agile ceremonies is also required to ensure alignment and continuous improvement within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Collaborate with product owners and development teams to understand requirements and create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Conduct code reviews for test scripts and work with developers to ensure high-quality code practices.
  • Implement performance and load testing to ensure application scalability and responsiveness.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams for timely resolution.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback on code quality.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of testing processes, test cases, and results.
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software development with a focus on automation.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related major, or other technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java.
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, RestAssured, TestNG, Cucumber).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies.
  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
  • CMS experience.
  • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel.
