About the position
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role at WITS involves ensuring software excellence through the formulation and execution of test plans, building and maintaining test environments, and developing comprehensive test cases. This position requires a strong background in software testing, particularly with tools like Selenium, Cypress, and API testing, and offers an opportunity to drive process improvements and enhance testing methodologies in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute test plans in line with software design requirements.
- Build and maintain test environments and develop comprehensive test cases to standardize product testing.
- Perform effective test case execution, identify defects, and manage defect tracking.
- Drive process improvements and share testing insights with the team.
- Continuously enhance testing methodologies and skills through ongoing learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher with at least 5 years of experience in software testing.
- Strong familiarity with software testing theory, processes, and technologies, including functional, automated, and security testing.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, and API testing.
- Proven ability to create test plans, frameworks, and cases.
- Excellent defect analysis and logical thinking abilities.
- Experience with agile project testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C# is highly desirable.
