About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer for a contract position based in Mclean, Virginia. The role focuses on building resilient APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot, with a strong emphasis on engineering quality and customer experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development, particularly in cloud-native technologies, and will be responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

• Building resilient APIs and Microservices using the latest technologies
• Performing engineering activities for performance tuning and deep monitoring of applications and services
• Working with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of the system, determine the priority of work, and ensure integrated end-to-end design and delivery
• Leveraging DevOps practices for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD)

Requirements

• 7 to 15 years of experience in Java 8 or above, Spring, APIs, AWS, DevOps, and CICD
• Excellent design and coding skills with a zeal for building applications using open source frameworks for cloud native technologies
• Hands-on experience building back-end microservices using Java and Spring Boot
• Strong sense of engineering quality and pride in code ownership

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing RESTful APIs
• Experience in Container orchestration frameworks: Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or Amazon ECS
• Certified in Java 8 or above, Spring or AWS technologies
