About the position

The SDR Manager at athenahealth will oversee a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) responsible for sourcing new qualified leads for Sales Executives selling cloud-based solutions to physician organizations. This role emphasizes team management, strategic collaboration with Sales Territory Managers, and fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. The SDR Manager will also engage in sales operations, ensuring accurate forecasting and adherence to best practices in CRM usage.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, develop, support and lead a team of SDRs
  • Collaborate with Sales Territory Managers to establish priorities and processes for the team to drive success
  • Partner with Sales Territory Managers to plan and strategize outbound nurturing campaigns
  • Work with SDRs to strategize and establish next steps for sourcing leads
  • Monitor performance goals and objectives of all direct reports, providing ongoing feedback
  • Provide both formal and informal training to SDRs
  • Recognize and reward accomplishments and contributions
  • Participate in team hiring initiatives through interviewing and assessing candidates
  • Document and deliver performance reviews including necessary disciplinary actions
  • Stay up to date on athena's product lines and market intelligence
  • Produce accurate forecasts to help Sales Executives achieve quotas
  • Develop and refine best practices for Salesforce usage
  • Track all outreach in Salesforce
  • Identify and help prioritize programs and initiatives to support the SGS strategy
  • Collaborate with other internal departments as it relates to sales efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 4+ years of sales experience required; 3+ years managing an inside sales team
  • Understanding of full-cycle sales process
  • Working knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to mentor and coach others through feedback and effective communication
  • Ability to establish a deep understanding of professional motivators of others
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills to understand relevant issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills, both on the phone and in person
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple needs at once
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong business acumen
