About the position

The Sea Based Weapon Systems Test Support position at Axient LLC involves joining the Missile Defense Agency's Sea-Based Weapon Systems Test Directorate. The role is focused on mission preparation and execution, ensuring the success of the MDA test program through collaboration with various stakeholders and providing test engineering support for developmental and operational weapon systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, integrate, and execute Sea-Based Weapon Systems Tests with multiple mission stakeholders.
• Assist in test readiness reviews and manage schedules, requirements, and documentation for flight and ground test operations.
• Collaborate with MDA, military services, government agencies, and contractors to support test execution.
• Provide test engineering support on systems and components during developmental and operational test events.
• Work as part of a team to solve engineering problems related to test planning, integration, execution, and analysis.

Requirements

• Experience in providing test engineering support for weapon systems during developmental and operational test events.
• General technical knowledge of DoD principles of developmental and operational testing.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member to solve engineering problems.
• Basic knowledge of MDS components and system-level topics.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

• US Navy background/experience, particularly as an Aegis Fire Control technician.
• Recent knowledge of Aegis Combat Systems.
• Experience related to ballistic missile testing.
• Familiarity with MDS capability, MDA requirements process, and MDS architecture.
