About the position

The Seafood Clerk position at Cosentino's Price Chopper is a part-time role focused on assisting customers with their seafood shopping experience. Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the seafood counter by weighing, wrapping, and pricing selected items.
• Follow guidelines for proper techniques of cutting and preparing seafood for display.
• Monitor product expiration dates and ensure proper rotation of items.
• Accurately count and record merchandise as part of the inventory process.
• Change shelf tags and price markers on displays quickly and accurately.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.
• Unload and sort incoming shipments, stocking them neatly in designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area and department.
• Comply with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Promote new items and weekly specials through effective merchandising.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• 1 year of experience in a grocery store or food handling.
