About the position

The Seafood Clerk is responsible for preparing and displaying seafood items for sale in a manner that is efficient, sanitary, and visually appealing, adhering to company standards and policies. This role involves engaging with customers, providing excellent service, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The position is part of a larger team dedicated to creating positive experiences for customers and fostering a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and display seafood items for sale in an efficient and sanitary manner.
• Perform customer service functions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Unload and store merchandise, preparing and displaying foods according to company standards and health regulations.
• Monitor product quality to ensure freshness and safety.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
• Perform required temperature monitoring for seafood products.
• Communicate effectively with customers and associates.

Requirements

• Effective written and oral communication skills to engage customers and associates.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and present information professionally.
• Personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer service related to merchandise sales.
• Ability to work with cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate production equipment.
