About the position
The Seafood Manager at Cosentino's Price Chopper is responsible for leading the Seafood team to enhance customer shopping experiences while promoting company growth. This role involves overseeing operations, managing team performance, and ensuring high standards of product quality and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in their shopping experience by leading all aspects of the Seafood team.
- Set and implement strategies for achieving operational excellence within the department.
- Communicate departmental goals to team members and implement plans to achieve them.
- Supervise the activities of the deli team effectively and respectfully.
- Provide coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations to improve team performance.
- Address employee relations issues and collaborate with the Human Resource team as needed.
- Promote a positive team atmosphere with high morale and cooperation.
- Conduct interviews to hire quality candidates for the team.
- Create schedules to manage labor costs while meeting customer service needs.
- Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve store management when necessary.
- Implement Cosentino Customer Service Standards and promote new items and specials.
- Manage inventory processes, including counting, tracking, and ordering products.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area for customers and coworkers.
Requirements
- A valid driver's license is required for deliveries.
- A food handling permit is required within the first 14 days of employment.
- Minimum of 1 year previous experience working in a retail seafood setting is required.
- Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan.
Nice-to-haves
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
