Responsibilities

• Keeps seafood area well stocked and appealing to meet customer requirements.
• Greets customers, makes suggestions, and provides information on seafood preparation.
• Takes orders for future delivery and helps fill special requests.
• Resolves customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Sets up displays and rotates product as needed.
• Ensures that seafood is fresh, in saleable condition with proper prices and signage.
• Handles spoiled, damaged, or close to expiration products according to company procedures.
• Removes non-saleable products to ensure quality.
• Weighs and wraps merchandise for customers, applying stickers showing price and weight.
• Maintains logs to track freshness and quality.
• Adheres to food and personal safety codes when handling products or utilizing kitchen tools.
• Responsible for general sanitation of the department and follows cleaning schedules.
• Disposes of trash properly.
• Helps manager control inventory through proper ordering.
• Minimizes losses by returning products to refrigeration.
• Reports shortages or overages to manager.
• Assists with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries if trained.
• May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if trained.
• Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
• Continuously improves job performance.
• Utilizes all company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• May assist in other departments.

Requirements

• Completed or working towards a high school diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.
