About the position

At Avantor, the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Lead Analyst plays a pivotal role within the Digital Marketing group, focusing on researching, building, monitoring, and optimizing SEM campaigns. This position is essential for addressing complex marketing challenges across various portfolios and segments, directly impacting revenue and enhancing web traffic growth. The SEM Lead Analyst will work closely with internal teams to ensure that marketing strategies align with overall business objectives and effectively engage target audiences. This role requires a deep understanding of digital marketing tactics, particularly in SEM and SEO, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The SEM Lead Analyst will also be responsible for developing ad copy that resonates with Avantor's diverse customer base, ensuring that all marketing materials are optimized for search engine performance and user conversion. In this position, the Lead Analyst will independently develop and implement operational plans, ensuring timely execution and compliance with budget constraints. The role involves adjusting marketing strategies to maximize return on investment (ROI) and reporting key performance metrics to management, including senior leadership. Staying updated on the latest SEM trends and technologies is crucial, as is contributing to the team's knowledge base by sharing best practices and industry insights. Additionally, the SEM Lead Analyst will assist in training and developing junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the SEM team.

Responsibilities

  • Research, build, monitor, and optimize SEM campaigns for various marketing scenarios.
  • Utilize advanced keyword research tools and marketing techniques to develop SEM campaigns that address complex challenges.
  • Independently develop and implement operational plans for key topics with minimal supervision.
  • Develop compelling ad copy that resonates with Avantor's customers across all segments and industries.
  • Collaborate with Content, Portfolio, and Communications teams to optimize ad copy and landing pages for search engine performance.
  • Adjust marketing strategies within campaigns to maximize ROI and report key performance metrics to management.
  • Stay updated on the latest SEM trends and technologies to enhance campaign performance.
  • Contribute to the SEM team's knowledge base by sharing best practices and industry updates.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior team members in SEM strategies and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or equivalent from a reputable school preferred.
  • 8+ years of applicable experience in digital marketing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in digital channels such as SEM, SEO, and email.
  • Advanced knowledge of search engine marketing, search engine optimization, and content marketing.
  • Advanced digital ad copywriting skills.
  • Significant knowledge of digital marketing tactics, tools, and benchmarks.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools including Qlikview, Google Data Studio, and Microsoft Power BI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data analysis and interpretation.
