About the position

The Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Manager at Expedia Group is responsible for managing and optimizing SEM campaigns, particularly in the lodging segment. This role requires strong analytical skills to monitor campaign performance, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with various teams to enhance marketing strategies. The SEM Manager will leverage data manipulation skills using SQL and Python to drive performance and provide actionable insights to the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the day-to-day performance of SEM campaigns.
  • Optimize and manage SEM campaigns to meet internal target KPIs.
  • Identify growth opportunities and prioritize the scale of winning tests to improve SEM performance.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to understand performance fluctuations and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Provide guidance to the Leadership Team on market trends and recommendations to maximize opportunities and returns.
  • Manipulate large data sets using SQL and Python to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Analytics, Data Science, Finance, SEO) and external partners (Google, Bing) on strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver impactful analysis regarding key market forces and apply analytics to present tangible business actions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in marketing and quantitative analysis.
  • Extraordinary analytical skills, including data manipulation and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL; familiarity with Python and R is beneficial.
  • Track record in SEM or similar growth channel is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong collaboration skills and understanding of online marketing/ecommerce.
  • Excellence in implementation, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

  • Experience in financial analysis and quantitative analysis.
  • Familiarity with online marketing and e-commerce strategies.
