About the position

Salesforce is seeking an experienced engineer with a strong background in Data Science, Machine Learning, and software engineering to join the Search Relevance team. This role focuses on enhancing the search experience across Salesforce's products by developing and deploying intelligence features that improve search relevancy. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a multi-functional team, utilizing Agile principles to drive innovation and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support intelligence features for a large-scale search service.
• Operationalize usage metrics to identify opportunities for improving search relevancy.
• Analyze various products and use cases to develop strategies for enhancing search effectiveness.
• Deploy models at scale and assess their impact through A/B testing.
• Develop new relevance features based on the latest research findings.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in engineering roles with a focus on Machine Learning and Information Retrieval.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as Tensorflow and Pytorch.
• Ability to measure and quantify the quality of search relevance systems.
• Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Java.
• Solid understanding of Object Oriented design, advanced algorithms, and data structures.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's or PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience with Lucene/Solr or similar search systems.
• Familiarity with large datasets using tools like Hadoop, Spark, Pig, or Hive.
• Understanding of usability and visual design principles.
• Experience building Software as a Service (SaaS) applications.
