About the position

The Seasonal Merchandise Associate at TJ Maxx is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This role involves engaging with customers, adhering to operational standards, and supporting various store functions to meet business needs. Associates are expected to embody the company's customer experience principles and contribute positively to the store culture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
• Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store as needed.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns, and count change back to customers.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company standards.
• Participate in store recovery throughout the day.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective collaboration with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
