About the position

The Seasonal Asset Protection Security Guard at Macy's is an entry-level position focused on maintaining a safe shopping environment and deterring theft. The role involves monitoring customer traffic, communicating suspicious activities to Asset Protection detectives, and providing excellent customer service. This position is part-time and requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers when they enter the store or a department within a store
• Use two-way communication devices to maintain contact with Asset Protection Detectives and Management
• Remain stationed at high traffic entrances and high-shortage areas to deter theft and monitor suspicious activity
• Maintain strict compliance with company policies regarding apprehensions, searches and evidence preservation
• Handle proprietary, sensitive, and confidential information

• Comfortable communicating with customers
• Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Enjoy working as part of a team, as well as independently
• Comfortable with two-way communication devices
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and across departments
• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers
• Must be able to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors, and read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
• Obtain and maintain required licenses, trainings, and certifications
