About the position

The Seasonal Customer Experience Specialist at Nordstrom Local Newport Beach is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while managing various tasks such as merchandise processing, supporting in-store events, and assisting customers with their needs. This role requires a motivated and detail-oriented individual who can engage effectively with diverse audiences and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers by effectively storytelling and engaging with diverse audiences.
• Quickly understand customer needs, connecting them to services such as Online Order Pickup, Alterations, Styling, Returns, and Gift Wrapping.
• Communicate professionally with customers via phone and email, providing feedback on trends, fit, and style.
• Support back of house processes, including inventory management and maintaining organization and cleanliness.
• Assist in event execution, acting as the point of contact for RSVPs and tracking customer information.
• Perform light cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, dishwashing, and restroom maintenance.
• For some shifts, open and close the building following proper security procedures.

Requirements

• A high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
• Ability to identify opportunities that benefit the customer and build solutions to meet their expectations.
• Adaptability to new initiatives, concepts, and services within the store.
• Proven success in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry between 1-25 lbs and occasionally 25-50 lbs.
• Basic understanding of technology tools and computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Booking Bug, and Excel.
