About the position

Simplot Grower Solutions is seeking to fill seasonal Truck Driver/Warehouse positions, offering both full-time and part-time temporary opportunities. This role is integral to our operations, as it involves the transportation of fertilizers and chemicals, ensuring timely deliveries to our customers and applicators. The position not only requires driving but also assisting with various plant operations, making it a dynamic role within our agricultural framework. As a part of a diverse and integrated company, you will be contributing to our farm-to-table mission, which encompasses food processing, phosphate mining, and other agricultural enterprises. The primary responsibility of the Truck Driver is to operate tender trucks while adhering to local, state, and federal laws and regulations. This includes performing pre-trip inspections, securing loads, and maintaining a clean vehicle. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to comply with our safety policies and complete necessary training. Additionally, you will be responsible for accurately completing daily inspections and notifying supervisors of any repairs needed on the vehicle. This role is essential in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently, especially during peak seasonal demands. Candidates should be prepared for the physical demands of the job, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and the willingness to work overtime and weekends as required. Responsibilities

  • Driving tender truck, ensuring timely deliveries to customers and applicators
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations (pre-trip, load securement, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean vehicle
  • Maintain safety policy and complete training
  • Accurately complete daily pre-trip inspections and notify supervisors of any needed repairs

Requirements

  • Must hold and maintain a Class A or B CDL and appropriate driving record or ability to obtain a Season Class B
  • Must hold and maintain a DOT Medical Certificate card
  • Must pass a DOT/Pre-employment drug screen
  • HazMat Endorsement preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Ag-Industry Hours - Must be willing to work overtime and weekends to meet seasonal demands
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job

Nice-to-haves

  • Truck driving experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of local rural geography is a plus
  • Knowledge of farm operations is a plus
  • Experience operating a manual transmission a plus
  • Ag background preferred
