About the position

Fremont Brewing Company is currently hiring for a Seasonal Full-Time Packaging Operator located at our main production facility in Ballard, Seattle. This position is integral to our operations as we focus on producing high-quality beer. The primary responsibilities of the Packaging Operator include operating and maintaining all packaging equipment, which encompasses our canning, bottling, and kegging lines. We are looking for an individual who is not only passionate about beer but also deeply cares about making and packaging the best beer possible. The timeline for this position is set to begin in August and will run through the end of October, aligning with our peak production season. As a Packaging Operator, you will be expected to work within a team culture and a safety-first environment. Your role will involve safely and efficiently operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting all packaging equipment. Collaboration with the brewing, cellar, and warehouse departments is essential to ensure timely production and to achieve brewery goals. You will also be responsible for maintaining all quality standards and performing all QA/QC checks, with a focus on constant improvement. Keeping the packaging hall and all equipment clean is a critical part of your duties, as is understanding the fundamentals of packaging and equipment operation. Additionally, you will complete preventative maintenance tasks and perform other similar brewery-related duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all packaging equipment.
  • Collaborate with brewing, cellar, and warehouse departments to ensure timely production and achieve brewery goals.
  • Maintain all quality standards and perform all QA/QC checks, with an eye towards constant improvement.
  • Maintain the utmost level of cleanliness throughout the packaging hall and all equipment.
  • Understand the fundamentals of packaging and equipment operation.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other similar brewery-related duties as required.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of brewery (or other beverage) packaging experience.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging operations and equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to problem solve on the fly.
  • Strong preference for experience with rotary can fillers, case packing equipment, and palletizers/de-palletizers.
  • An obsessive dedication to quality and detail.
  • Ability to work safely and follow SOP.
  • High ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Desire to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including first, second shifts, and weekends.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
