About the position
The Seasonal Greeter at Lauritzen Gardens is a part-time, temporary position responsible for providing exceptional guest services in a vibrant outdoor environment. The role involves greeting visitors, assisting with ticket purchases, and supporting retail operations during slower periods. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with the public and are committed to enhancing the visitor experience at a living museum.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest as they enter the Visitor and Education Building, ensuring proper scanning of admission tickets using a hand-held scanning device.
- Help guests purchase tickets using outdoor scanners.
- Effectively communicate and assist with special events as needed.
- Assist in the operations of the retail store during slow times, including front line sales and customer service.
- Provide information on merchandise selections, exhibits, and events to customers.
- Keep the store area clean and stocked, assisting with daily merchandise unpacking and check-in.
- Stay alert to prevent damage and theft in the store area.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with the public.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to walk/stand for long periods in an outdoor setting.
- Ability to use hand-held scanners and interactive kiosks.
