About the position

The Seasonal Guest Experience Leader (GEL) at Bloomingdale's is a part-time role focused on enhancing customer interactions and driving sales on the selling floor. The GEL is responsible for proactively engaging with customers, resolving issues, and mentoring associates to ensure an exceptional shopping experience. This position requires a strong presence on the sales floor, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage customer needs in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with customers and greet them upon entry.
• Anticipate customer needs and resolve issues promptly.
• Mentor associates on store processes to enhance customer experience.
• Provide visible oversight of the store and ensure staffing coverage is appropriate.
• Support the fulfillment strategy and maintain store standards at closing.
• Communicate with management about customer experience and staffing issues.
• Champion the use of selling technology to improve customer interactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university.
• 3-5 years of related experience in retail or customer service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic math functions.
• Ability to manage people and resources independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a leadership role within retail.
• Familiarity with customer relationship management tools.
