About the position
The Seasonal Guest Experience Leader (GEL) at Bloomingdale's is a part-time role focused on enhancing customer interactions and driving sales on the selling floor. The GEL is responsible for proactively engaging with customers, resolving issues, and ensuring a high-quality shopping experience. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to mentor associates, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Actively engage with customers and greet them upon entry.
- Anticipate customer needs and resolve issues with urgency.
- Mentor associates on store processes to enhance customer experience.
- Perform closing functions including register operations.
- Provide visible oversight and support to the store team.
- Advocate for customers and solicit feedback to improve service.
- Ensure appropriate staffing coverage and manage breaks for associates.
- Lead the fulfillment strategy and maintain store standards at closing.
- Coach and role model customer-centric selling behaviors.
- Communicate with management about customer experience and staffing issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university.
- 3-5 years of related experience in a retail environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic math functions.
- Ability to manage people and resources effectively with minimal direction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in retail management or customer service leadership.
- Familiarity with selling technology and omnichannel retailing.
