About the position

Carter's Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Loader/Unloader to join our team in Jonesboro, Georgia. As the largest North American apparel retailer exclusively for babies and young children, we pride ourselves on serving the needs of families with young children through our brands, including Carter's, OshKosh B'gosh, Skip*Hop, and Little Planet. This position is essential to our operations, focusing on the efficient loading and unloading of trailers, sorting, and stacking cases on pallets. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced production environment, ensuring that all tasks are completed quickly and accurately while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. In this role, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trailers, sorting and stacking cases on pallets, and shrink-wrapping pallets to prepare them for storage or shipment. You will need to work efficiently and accurately, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area. This position requires physical stamina, as you will be required to stand for the entire shift and perform various physical tasks, including lifting and moving cases weighing up to 40 pounds. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will need to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions, as well as accurately count and measure items as part of your daily responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers efficiently.
• Sort and stack cases on pallets.
• Shrink wrap pallets for storage or shipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work quickly and accurately in a production environment.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents in English.
• Effective one-on-one communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions.
• Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and ability to use a keyboard/mouse.
• Physical ability to stand throughout the entire shift.
• Capability to handle, move, and feel cases/cartons/boxes.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, or kneel as needed during the shift.
• Regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds without strain.
• Ability to adjust focus to read small font accurately on scanner/label/computer screen.
