About the position

The Seasonal Merchandise Associate at HomeGoods is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This role involves engaging with customers, adhering to operational standards, and supporting various store functions to meet business needs. Associates may be cross-trained in multiple areas to enhance store operations and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and count change back according to established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs to customers.
• Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company standards.
• Participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Retail customer experience preferred.
