About the position

The Seasonal Sales Associate at Navy Exchange Services (NEX) is responsible for selling general merchandise and providing exceptional customer service in a Food and Beverage Convenience Bar setting. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting with merchandise selection, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Minimart, including stocking, cleaning, and cash register transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greets and engages customers in conversation for sales assistance.
• Assists customers in selecting merchandise and suggests complementary items.
• Explains product warranty coverage and benefits to customers.
• Maintains a friendly and professional interaction with customers and coworkers.
• Ensures assigned areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged.
• Communicates with supervisors regarding stock and customer preferences.
• Participates in department meetings to discuss customer service improvements.
• Completes sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Informs customers about upcoming sales events and services available.
• Handles customer returns and problems tactfully and efficiently.
• Assists in creating store displays and performing periodic inventories.
• Monitors and maintains cleanliness of the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar.

Requirements
