The Operations Specialist at CHS, Inc. plays a crucial role in the grain operations at the Sharon Springs, KS location. Responsibilities

  • Carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently as directed.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the commodities handled at the location and comply with company policy and government regulations.
  • Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, including sampling and attaching/detaching hoses.
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using machinery/equipment.
  • Control and monitor all load out functions.
  • Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems.
  • Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain quality of inventory including blended, bulk, or packaged products.
  • Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemicals, and feed to customer sites.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas, conducting regular housekeeping duties.
  • Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal.
  • Drive loader and operate forklift for warehouse work and inventory management.
  • Report customer complaints, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Operations and/or Business Operations
  • Must meet minimum age requirement

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
