About the position

The Seasonal Part-Time Retail Sales Manager at Duluth Trading Company is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and leading the store team to create memorable shopping experiences. This role emphasizes a customer-centric approach, ensuring that the store is well-managed and that all team members are engaged and knowledgeable about the products. The position requires a hands-on approach to managing store operations, including merchandise presentation, customer interactions, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an exceptional familiarity with the Duluth brand and comprehensive product knowledge to provide solution-oriented, friendly service to customers.
  • Lead the store team to deliver high levels of service and engagement.
  • Manage floor coverage to engage customers and enhance the Duluth experience.
  • Ensure accurate recording of customer profile information.
  • Proactively respond to customer concerns and provide positive resolutions.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation according to Visual Merchandising standards.
  • Ensure the sales floor is customer-ready and set up sales and promotions effectively.
  • Supervise the handling of merchandise receipts and transfers accurately.
  • Ensure cleanliness standards for the sales floor, stockroom, restrooms, and hospitality area are met.
  • Provide clear and consistent feedback to employees regularly.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies, and programs, setting a positive example for the team.
  • Understand, execute, and train all cash-handling and reporting functions.
  • Process all register functions and ensure compliance in the store.
  • Secure the store and respond to alarms as directed.
  • Ensure the safety of employees and customers, communicating concerns to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Customer-centric attitude and pride in a job well done.
  • Integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and function as part of a team.
