About the position
As a Seasonal Retail Sales Associate at Follett Corporation, you will play a vital role in enhancing the campus experience for students by providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. This position is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about engaging with customers and contributing to a vibrant store culture. Your responsibilities will include operating the cash register, stocking shelves, processing online orders, and assisting with shipping and receiving tasks. This seasonal role is expected to last for a period of up to 90 days, with the possibility of working on weekends and varying shifts during the busy Fall Rush period. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as you may be required to work opening, midday, or closing shifts based on store needs. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the store is well-stocked and organized, which includes carrying and straightening merchandise, pricing items, and setting up displays. You will also be involved in picking, processing, and packing orders for shipping, as well as providing customer service during special events such as graduations and athletic events. Your ability to create a welcoming environment for both associates and customers will be key to your success in this position. Responsibilities
- Operate cash register, accepting cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
- Carry and straighten merchandise, stock shelves, and price merchandise.
- Assist in setting up displays and signs.
- Pick, process, and pack orders for shipping.
- Provide customer service and sales functions for special events, including graduations and athletic events.
- Support a store environment where all associates and customers are welcome.
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
- Strong customer service skills including effective communication.
- Ability to stand on your feet for the length of your shift.
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs regularly with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload.
- Previous retail, customer service, or clerical experience.
