About the position

The Seasonal Retail Sales Associate at Macy's is a vital role focused on delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing the shopping experience. This position involves engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and providing product recommendations while contributing to the overall sales goals of the store. Associates will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with team members to maintain store standards and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and connect with customers in a friendly and genuine way.
  • Recommend products by asking questions to identify customer needs and inspiring purchases.
  • Offer options and solutions to customers to complete the sale.
  • Wrap up the moment to close out the customer's shopping journey, celebrating their purchases.
  • Master store products, services, loyalty programs, and Macy's sales systems to assist customers.
  • Maintain department recovery standards, including selling floor and fitting rooms.
  • Deliver optimal merchandise execution presentation, ensure accurate merchandise pricing, and process markdowns.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of the products being sold and ability to provide expert guidance to customers.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers virtually, via phone, and in person.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and achieve sales goals.
  • Utilize point of sale technology and applications for selling and fulfilling customer orders.
  • Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends through Macy's educational resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Partnership with the total team to drive sales and deliver customer experience.

  • Experience in retail or customer service is a plus, but not required.
