About the position

As a Seasonal Retail Sales Associate at Kohl's, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring operational efficiency at the point of sale. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with customers, providing them with assistance and support throughout their shopping experience. This includes greeting customers, operating the cash register, scanning items, bagging merchandise, and handling various payment methods. You will be expected to execute point of sale and customer service standards accurately and efficiently, adhering to company guidelines while maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor. In addition to customer interactions, you will be responsible for meeting or exceeding individual performance goals, such as credit and loyalty program sign-ups. Supporting inventory accuracy is also a key aspect of your role, which involves completing all required point of sale and merchandise disposition practices accurately. You will have the opportunity to support the training of new hires on the service team, sharing best practices and ensuring they understand proper point of sale procedures while upholding Kohl's brand standards. Your daily tasks will include participating in service processes such as register and cash balancing, managing change orders, and replenishing supplies. As a representative of Kohl's, you will be expected to act with integrity and honesty, fostering teamwork in an inclusive culture. You will need to exercise good judgment when making decisions and demonstrate a customer service mindset by anticipating customer needs and resolving issues satisfactorily. The role requires the ability to accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes while adhering to company policies and safety standards. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Operate a cash register, scan items, bag merchandise, and properly handle different methods of payment.
  • Accurately and efficiently execute point of sale and customer service standards based on company guidelines.
  • Meet or exceed individual goals (e.g., credit, loyalty).
  • Support inventory accuracy through accurate completion of all required point of sale and merchandise disposition practices.
  • Support the training process for new hires on the service team, including teaching process best practices and proper point of sale procedures.
  • Participate in daily service processes (e.g., register and cash balancing, change orders, replenish supplies).

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
  • Verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
