About the position

The Seasonal Retail Sales Associate at HomeSense is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This part-time role involves engaging with customers, adhering to operational standards, and supporting various store functions to contribute to the overall success of the business. Associates will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that encourages personal expression and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
  • May be cross-trained to work in multiple areas of the store.
  • Role model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
  • Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
  • Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and count change back to customers according to established procedures.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs.
  • Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established procedures and standards.
  • Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards.
  • Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
  • Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor.
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
  • Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
  • Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Retail customer experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail sales or customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
