About the position

The Seasonal Retail Sales Associate at Kohl's is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and ensuring operational efficiency at the point of sale. This role focuses on creating a compelling customer experience while executing transactions quickly and accurately. Associates will engage with customers, support inventory accuracy, and assist in training new hires, all while adhering to company standards and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Operate a cash register, scan items, bag merchandise, and properly handle different methods of payment.
• Accurately and efficiently execute point of sale and customer service standards based on company guidelines.
• Meet or exceed individual goals (e.g., credit, loyalty).
• Support inventory accuracy through accurate completion of all required point of sale and merchandise disposition practices.
• Support the training process for new hires on the service team, including teaching process best practices and proper point of sale procedures.
• Participate in daily service processes (e.g., register and cash balancing, change orders, replenish supplies).
• Act with integrity, honesty, and foster teamwork in an engaged and inclusive culture.
• Exercise good judgment and discernment when making decisions; take appropriate partners as needed.
• Demonstrate a customer service mindset, anticipating customer needs and satisfactorily resolving issues.
• Accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
• Maintain adherence to company safety policies for the safety of all associates and customers.
• Receive, understand, and proactively respond to direction from supervisors/managers and other company personnel.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
• Verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
